I specialize in treating trauma and the lasting impacts that it has on people. If you have a certain set of symptoms as a result of an experience then it's called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The word ‘trauma’ is often misunderstood and as you read you will find that I can help to erase the effects of many types of experiences, even if you may not necessarily assign the word 'trauma' to them. What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based, highly productive method of therapy that uses your brain’s natural healing process as the primary tool to treat traumatic and impactful experiences. It can bring quick and lasting relief to a variety of mental struggles and pains. There are many misconceptions and stereotypes about what counseling is. If you have never been to counseling before, I welcome you and would like to fill you in on what to expect. If you have attended sessions in the past, therapists have different styles so mine may be different in some ways than what you have experienced so it may be helpful to check out.
How will EMDR be different then the past therapy that I’ve experienced?
Will my insurance cover my sessions?
What if I’m on the fence about scheduling a session?
Will everything we talk about in sessions be private?
I want to book a session, how do I get started?
